REACHING YOUR GOALS IN 2015

Well, another year is about to pass and we are about to enter into a New Year.

Of course, this is the time when many people are making plans. Some plans involve shopping for Christmas presents, while others may be engaged in making New Year’s Resolutions as they prepare for the year ahead.

This is indeed noteworthy, because if we fail to plan, then we are planning to fail. If we do not see the need to set goals for our lives, we will not find ourselves living our dreams. After all, success is a matter of knowing what you want, determining how much you desire that goal, making a plan of how you intend to get where you are going, and then heading in that direction, staying with it persistently, diligently, until your achieve it.

While I do believe in planning for the year and years ahead, it is a proven fact that many of us make the same resolutions year after year, because we failed to accomplish and reach our goals the year before. Some people even give up making New Year’s resolutions for that very reason. They are tired of making plans and failing to reach them.

But giving up is not the answer.

I believe that goals are achievable. And I know this by experience, my own as well as that of others. Most people do not reach their goals and dreams because they quit too soon. They give up after a short time of trying, thinking that they are getting nowhere. But we must remember that the world was not created in one day. It takes time to get ahead.

It actually takes a word that many of us have yet to comprehend. It is the word, “DILIGENCE.”

I can imagine some of you asking, “What is that?” Well, I am glad you asked. The word “diligence,” means “to give constant, careful, steady effort towards a desired goal until it is accomplished.”

This is the reason many people make goals but never achieve them. They are not constant. They are not consistent. To be consistent means “to keep at it.” A diligent person is a very focused person who refuses to procrastinate and be lazy. This type of person does not just make plans and expect them to come to pass without effort on his or her part.

No, the diligent person is a go-getter. And if we desire to reach our goals and dreams we will have to make a firm decision that from this point on, we will be go-getters. We will go after what we desire and will not stop or quit until we have attained it.

Your goals may be spiritual. You may desire to walk closer to the Lord. Then again, your goals can be physical. You may desire to get your body in shape, or to lose some weight. Perhaps you may have goals of a financial manner. Maybe you want a house to call your own and need the down-payment. Then again, perhaps your goals are a combination of all of these.

I set spiritual goals, educational goals, physical goals, financial goals and family goals. All of these are important. Write down your goals. Now, write them clearly and make them as plain as possible. Then write down how you intend on reaching them. You must make your goals do-able if you plan on achieving them. Someone has even suggested that you set timelines on them.

Then get to work. I encourage you to make your goals as do-able as possible, and to make the action steps to achieving them as workable as you can so that you can begin implementing them immediately. If you are to reach them you must learn to MASTER PROCRASTINATION.

Focus on the objective, on what you are after and get after it. Now the key to getting there again is that when you begin going after your goals, you will need to diligently stay after them. You will have to learn to persevere. Just think for a moment: If you had continued to save $30.00 per month all this year, how much money would you have right now? How much would you have in five years, then ten years?

Suppose you had continued walking, working out and making better eating choices? How much weight would you have lost by now?  And suppose you had continued reading those chapters of your Bible in your quest to read through the Scriptures this year? You probably would have been near finished and ready to begin again.

You see, the power is not just in starting. It is in continuing. It is in staying steady. It is in remaining focus and keeping at it even when you do not feel like it.

Well, this year is coming quickly to a close and another one is about to begin. It will come with its share of challenges. But by exercising diligence and steadfastness you are going to reach your goals this time. For you will be consistent. And you will persevere. And you will find out the truth that when you refuse to cave in and give up, success is inevitable.

My Tribute To Dr. Myles Munroe & Dr. Richard Pinder

My introduction to the ministry of Dr. Myles Munroe happened over thirty years ago.

At that time I was a member of a traditional denominational church, which did not believe in speaking in tongues. I had recently given my life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of thirteen, and was a part of the youth department. We met on Friday evenings. On one particular Friday evening when I did not ride the church bus home, my sister came in and told me that they had stopped at a meeting being held at a hotel. She said that people were falling on the floor and speaking in tongues. Believe me when I say that this got my attention.

So when they decided to go to another of the meetings at the hotel, I went with them. Now the reason I went was because many of our youths looked up to me for an example so I wanted to make sure they were not getting into something that was not of God.

Well, we got there and as the service progressed, a gentleman was introduced who was one of the guest speakers from the United States of America. And I guess he spoke alright, but I cannot tell you one thing that he said, because I had come there to see the “falling down” side of the service. That’s what I was waiting on.

Sure enough, after he spoke, he invited people up who wanted to receive the mighty infilling with the Holy Spirit to come to the front. I went up along with my sister and  others. As I watched, he laid his hands on the first person, and they fell under the power of God. In my mind I thought, “Well look at that.”

When he reached my sister who was standing next to me, as he laid hands upon her, she went down. He then touched me (not pushed me, but touched me gently), down I went as well. When I opened my eyes, my sister was lying on the floor speaking with tongues.

This experience of falling under God’s power got my attention. Perhaps there was more to life in Christ that I knew. (Thank God there was). I went over to the book table and saw a little mini-book on falling under God’s power, and after seeing that the experience was very Biblical, I went on my knees and asked the Lord Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit. He did and this mighty experience changed my life.

At that time I did not realize that the man of God responsible for the meeting was Pastor Myles Munroe. He had recently returned from attending school at Oral Roberts University, and had started a work called, Bahamas Faith Ministries, along with his friend, and co-laborer, Pastor Richard Pinder. And during this meeting of which I speak, Dr. Munroe was actually playing a guitar and leading the praise and worship (something else we did not do at our church either). I did not know that after the meetings with the guest speakers was over, they were still having church on Sundays and Fridays.

However, one of the sisters who attended our local assembly knew. She invited me to attend the service with Pastor Myles on Friday nights. And I went.

This changed my life forever, for Pastor Myles taught the principle of the Word of God in a very understandable manner. This was not what I was used to. But my spirit was hungry for the Word and the more I stayed around Bahamas Faith Ministries, the more I actually learned what it meant to live for Christ.  This humble and strongly anointed man of God taught is truth and brought us into what it really meant to worship and praise God. Oh, he could lead a praise and worship service. We would worship for an hour. And God always ministered to us through tongues with interpretation and prophecy during those times. It was so powerful and precious to be able to lift my hands and tell the Lord how I loved Him and worship Him. WOW.

During this time, I once went to Pastor Myles and said to him, “Pastor Myles, I am having problems with my flesh.” He did not condemn me. He did not rebuke me. He did not say, “Well, you must not be saved.” Instead, he pointed to a series of teaching tapes.. (Yes, cassette tapes. That should show you how long ago this was).  He encouraged me to get them. Actually, he told me, “You need to get those tapes.” Being a teenager, I told him that I did not have the money for them. He said, “You will get them.” And sure enough, would you believe that someone brought that series for me. Praise the Lord.

This was when I learned a valuable truth from God’s Word that I had not learned from the church I attended. I am not blaming them by the way. When you don’t know, you simply don’t know. Through this series of teachings Pastor Munroe explained that I was more than just flesh and blood. I was spirit, soul and body. And when I gave my life to Jesus it was my spirit that got recreated and became a new creation in Christ Jesus. But nothing happened to my mind, or my flesh. I had to do something with my mind. I had to get it renewed with the Word of God. And I had to do something with my flesh. I had to offer it to God as a living sacrifice and bring it under control, and make it obey God. This precious truth has literally revolutionized my walk with God. All of a sudden everything became clear. And I have never let go of this truth of God’s Word. As a matter of fact, I have taught these precious truths which I have learned through Dr. Munroe for over thirty years now, helping people understand how to practically live for Christ in their every day experience. Knowing these truths ended my confusion.

Since then, I have fed repeatedly from God’s Word delivered through His servant, Dr. Myles Munroe and also through Dr. Richard Pinder and I owe a great debt of gratitude to both of them. And even to this day, as a pastor and minister of the Gospel, I hold their example as a model of how I should conduct myself as a servant of Christ.

I will miss Dr. Myles Munroe, and Dr. Richard Pinder. But I know that they are with the Lord, which is far better than being on this earth. And one day, I will join them. I look forward to that. Their impact for the Kingdom of God will never be diminished. The fire will never go out. God bless their families and the wonderful saints at Bahamas Faith Ministries and all who have been wonderfully impacted by the Word and power of God through these two humbles servants of God.

MY NAME IS JEALOUS

Excuse Me, but can I have about an hour of your time today?

I have tried repeatedly to get your attention, but to no avail. I know that you are a busy person. I am aware that you have a schedule to keep. I also noticed that I am not even mentioned in that schedule, but if you don’t mind, I would like to interrupt your plans for just a little while and speak with you of matters that are of great concern to both you and me.

If you would sit with me and have a cup of tea, I have some things to share with you that will be worth more than the reward you are hoping to attain this year as a part of your goals.

As a matter of truth, what I have to say to you is worth far more than silver, gold, or any sum of money. The worth of what I desire to give you is beyond any price that you can fathom.

I would like to give you valuable information and knowledge that can change your negative situations, circumstances, and even your very life as you know it. As a matter of fact, the good changes that I will produce in your life will be permanent.

Let me begin my conversation with you by asking you a most vital question. You will find, as we continue, that I will ask you several questions that I know are pertinent to your life and to my association with you. After all, I want this time with you to be meaningful, and it is for our mutual benefit. My questions are designed to make you think, contemplate, ponder, and muse. Otherwise, our time together will prove itself empty, unproductive, and fruitless.

My first question is: Why are you here?

You know that I created you, but for what purpose did I make you? Do you really know?

I know that you have some of your own ideas of what you would like to attain. I realize that because of your intelligence, you assume yourself to be a pretty smart person. You think you have your life all figured out, or at least try to act like it. You present a strong front because you have an image to protect. Even though you know on the inside that something is not right, you love giving the appearance as if everything is okay. You play strong, yet you know within that you are living a superficial existence.

Your friends all think that you are sure of yourself. They think that you are the person with all of the answers, the one who has it all together, so many of them come and confide in you often.

Yet, I know you, and I am aware of you in a way that no one else is. Your so-called friends can only see you as you appear to them, as you desire for them to see you, but I can see deeper than your friends. I see your heart.

You live a fictitious life. You act happy and secure. You attend church and even participate. Yet you are hurting inside, aren’t you? I know you. I would like to help you. I want to reveal you to you, for I know you better than anyone else. I know you better than you know you. I know everything there is to know about you. I know the truth about you, for I created you.

For instance, I know your thoughts and the intents of your heart. I know your innermost feelings and desires. I know your deceptions and your excuses that are rooted in deception, and you have become so good at making excuses for your actions and inactions that your lying does not even bother you anymore. You even lie to me, and I made you.

You keep making vows and promises to me that carry no weight. You go to the altar after you have heard my voice through my servants and handmaidens, calling you to myself and pleading with you to give me some of your time. You make promises, empty promises. You tell me that you will make time for me, even if you have to wake up earlier. Crying, you promise me. You make your vow.

Then, the night of the vow, that very night that you prayed and said what you said to me, you will stay up late giving television much more time than you have given me in a while, and the next morning wake up late and say to me, “Lord, you understand. I’m only human.” That will not be excused any longer. It never has been excused, for you are much more than flesh and blood. I made you; therefore, I know you.

Not only do you break your word to me, but you are also unfaithful to other people as well. I want you to realize that when you break your word to me, your spouse, your coworkers, your pastor, or any other person, you are not just hurting us. You are affecting the inner condition of your heart.

So have you gotten an answer for me yet? Why are you here? Why have I created you?

I know that it seems as if I am being hard on you, but you must realize that I know some things you don’t know. If you do not change the course of your life, you are going to regret it. You will cry and find no solace for a long time. I am trying to save you all that drama, but I cannot help you if you do not give me some of your valuable time.

Time. It is valuable because, once it is gone, you cannot get it back. It is priceless. Once time is gone, it is gone.

Life will pass whether you pass with it or not. Time never stands still. It keeps moving, and if you don’t move with it properly, it will always work against you. However, if you learn to work with it, it will work in your favor. Time will prove itself to be your best friend or your worst enemy.

However, you are not using your time properly, for you are neglecting the one you should give the first part of your time to. You are giving everything your time except your true purpose for being. I have a problem with that.

You may have heard of some of my other names, each of which describe the essence of my character. He expounded on each of my names in great detail, and you, along with others in the congregation, shouted and rejoice. Some of my names are Jehovah-Jireh, your provider. He spoke of me as your Jehovah-Nissi, your banner and victory. I Am your Jehovah-Shalom, your peace, and Jehovah-Rophe, your healer. I Am as Jehovah-Raah, your shepherd, and Jehovah-Tidskenu, your righteousness. I am truly your El Shaddai, the Almighty God, and your strength.

But there is another of my names that you might not have heard.

It is a name that is rarely taught, because most do not know it. All of the benefits revealed in my other names will be of little or no avail in your life unless and until you gain an understanding and experiential appreciation for this name.

How To Reach Your Life's Goals

There is only one way to accomplish your goals. And that is by diligently pursuing them, doing so relentlessly with determination and fortitude.

Diligence is the golden key of all worthy achievements, for it is the power to consistently and persistently engage our energies and efforts to their attainment. To be diligent implies giving constant, careful, steady attention to something. In other words, it means to know what you want, go after what you want and refuse to stop until you get what you want. This is the attitude that wins in life.

Everyone who has done something deserving of attention has employed diligence to make it happened. No one can be truly successful without this powerful force. Many of us make new goals every year. We call them New Year’s Resolutions. What is interesting however is that some of these goals are the same ones we made the previous year, or even before that. We never attained them. They did not become reality. Amidst the fact that some goals and dreams take years to fully manifest, one cannot help to think that the obvious reason most goals are not realized is because the actions and sustained actions necessary to bring them to fruition are not implemented effectively and sufficiently.

Indeed it would be startling to do a survey as to how many of us have failed to realize our dreams, not because the timing was not right, but because we simply did not give our all and pursue them. In other words, we were not diligent.

Ask any successful person and they will tell you they won in life because they determined to do so.
They will share with you the hurdles they had to over-come, the giants they had to slay, the challenges they had to face and the pressures they had to endure. They will convince you of, not just their victories, but also of their struggles, as they learned to push pass things which otherwise may have convinced them to stop, and just when things looked the worst, that extra push, that extra action, that determined drive made the difference and brought them into their desired place in life. No one wins without being determined to do so. Diligence is the master key to achievement.

Your goal is within reach if you are prepared to do what it takes, and do enough of what it takes to make it a reality. You actually have more for you than against you. The Great Creator of the universe is for your success. He is willing to help you and empower you so that you can see your dreams come to pass. But in the final analysis, whether you succeed or not is up to you. The choices you make determine your fate.

This is a point some do not want to accept and would argue with. After all, it is human nature to blame all seemingly bad happenings on God, regardless of the part that we had to play in the ordeal. The truth of the matter is that the Sovereign One so desires for us to win in life, He has provided the ways and means for us to overcome our negative situations and win in life.

So you and I have more for us than against us. We can see our dreams become a reality. We can enjoy life, experiencing the sweet taste of conquest and victory over and over again. We are able to defeat our giants, literally bursting through every limitation that presents itself, making a mark in this world which is never erased or forgotten. The question is not, Can my dreams come true? The real question is, Am I prepared, with God’s help, to do what it takes to see them happen?

Successful people apply diligence to their goals and dreams. That is why they win in life.

Humility Is The Key To The Power Of God

For years, many people have wondered how to obtain power with God. Reading books about those whom the Lord used mightily, we have stood in awe at the anointing of God that flowed though them bringing deliverance, healing and blessing to so many people.

And of course, we have been inspired to seek God, desiring to be used in the same manner. However, most people who ask God for His power do not experience great depths of the anointing, and some give up because of frustration and despair. They wonder why it seems as if God would not answer their request. However, believe me when I say that the problem (if we want to call it that) is not with God. Many of us are missing the mark because while we desire to be used of the Lord, we must be willing to examine our motives as to why.

I firmly believe that God wants to flow in and through our lives much more than we desire for Him to use us. But in His grace and love for us, He withholds certain things until we develop the proper attitude of heart and mind in regard to His power. I remember one time when I was seeking God for a deeper level and dimension of the anointing of God in my life. I was asking Him to let more of the marvelous manifestations of the Spirit flow through me. While I was praying in this manner, It seemed as if I could sense the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart. I asked Him to let His gifts flow more in and through my life and He seemed to ask me, “WHY?” And while He was asking me why I wanted more of the move of the Spirit in my life and ministry, He seemed to shine a light on my motives and intents. Let me say that I did not like what I saw. As a matter of fact, I did not even answer. But He knew why.

And I believe that this is the reason why many people do not experience the greatness of the power of God that He longs to flow through us to meet the needs of others. The greatest hinderance to the Lord using us in the strength that He desires to is pride.

Pride is something God abhors and utterly detests. He walks with the humble and despises the proud. What is pride? It is allowing yourself to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think. Pride caused the enemy to fall. When satan began to think that he was all that and that he deserved to sit on God’s Throne, it caused his downfall.

Likewise, when we allow ourselves to think that God has anointed us because we are better than others, or that because God has anointed us we are above others and can treat people in any manner we choose, we are headed to a fall. The truth of the matter is that we need God and we need one another. And we need to realize that when God uses us to be a blessing to others, it is not to cause us to think of ourselves as better than others, but to meet the needs of others in Jesus Name and for His honor and for His glory.

The Bible teaches that God gives more grace to the humble. (James 4:6) When it comes to this powerful key to the power and anointing of God, many of us must admit, we have not even done a study on Bible humility to find out what it is and how to live humbly before the Lord. We prefer to study how God used others and attempt to take on their form. We try to imitate them, but we do not get the kind of results they got because while we may have their actions, we lack their heart, the humble heart.

Yet, when a person humbles himself or herself before the Lord, WATCH OUT, God is about to flow through that person in marvelous ways to minister to the needs of others. Humility is not a side issue with God. It is the issue. Scripture admonishes us to be clothed with humility. (1Peter 5: 6-7)

Seeing that this is the case, we had better take a closer look at this vital and timely Bible principle. What is humility? Well, permit me to say that it is not the degrading of self, but the acknowledgement of the greatness of God and our deep need for Him. It is living in the awareness that we can never be all we are to be, accomplish all we are to do, or obtain all we are to have without God. We need Him.

May we in an honest and true heart learn the power of humility and seek God for His anointing not so that we can be seen, but so that the needs of others can be met and Jesus Christ the Son of God can receive all of the glory and credit for all He does through us. This is the path to a powerful anointing from God. May we seek Him diligently.

What Happens When You Get Saved Part 4

In my previous lessons on what happened when a person receives Jesus Christ as Lord and gets born again, I began to share concerning the importance of renewing our minds to God’s will and ways. We have to change the way we think about things if we desire to walk in God’s best.

When we first give our lives to Christ, our spirits were instantly changed. But our mind is another story. We will have to get into the Word of God and feed upon it continually so that our thought-life can come in line with what God did in our spirits when we received His life. The key to mind renewal is meditation. Yes, I said meditation. Meditation is not a bad word, but many people have erroneous ideas concerning it because of what many eastern religions teach about it. But meditation is God’s idea.

God spoke to Joshua of old and told him to meditate in His Word day and night. (Joshua 1:8) God spoke of the blessedness of the person who would meditate in His Word day and night, saying that he or she would be like a tree planted by rivers and waters and that whatsoever he or she did would prosper. (Psalms 1: 1-3)

Meditation is not a bad thing. It is a God thing which makes it a good thing if we understand what God means by it. Here is something to consider: When eastern religions speak of meditation, they encourage people to empty their minds of every thought. This is not Biblical and it can prove to be very dangerous. (Most people do not have much in their minds now. Imagine them emptying what little sense they have. Smile.)

God, however speaks of meditation as filling our minds, filling our thoughts with the thoughts of God, with the Word of God. We are not told to empty our minds. We are encouraged to think, ponder and consider God’s Word day and night. (For more information on true Biblical Meditation, please refer to my book, Be Ye Transformed here: http://amzn.to/1lxeu8D

The word to meditate, according to the James Strongs Exhaustive Concordance, means to think, mutter, imagine and ponder. This means we are to think upon the Word of God, mutter and speak the Word of God to ourselves over and over again, set our imaginations upon God’s Word and ponder the truths of God’s Word.

Here is a particular passage from God’s Word that you can use to meditate. Notice carefully how I will be pondering this Scripture.

Ephesians 2:10 (Amplified Bible)

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”

Oh my, this particular verse of Scripture is so filled with life, so full of good truths that we should take our time and muse upon it. However, because we only have a few moments, we shall just taste a few of these sweet and precious revealed realities.

Firstly, we are God’s workmanship, His own handiwork. We are recreated of God. We are born of Him. Oh wow. We are born of the Almighty God, the Creator of the universe.

Repeat this softly to yourself: I am born of Almighty God. I am born of Him. I am His child. I am His creation, His recreation. Not only so, but I am His handiwork. As the potter makes the clay into a vessel of beauty and usefulness, even so God has recreated me and made me into a vessel of beauty and usefulness. Say it under your breath: I am born of God. I am born of God. I am His Own handiwork.

Notice again that we have been recreated in Christ Jesus. Say it aloud: I am in Christ Jesus. I am bone of His bones and flesh of His flesh. I am connected to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a branch in the Vine. I am in Christ Jesus now.

Now look at the next statement in this verse of Scripture: I am God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Wow. Muse with me upon this marvelous truth. We have been recreated in Christ for a purpose a Heavenly Purpose. And that purpose is to do good works, to do the works which God had set in our destiny from the foundation of the world. This means that we are not an accident. We are not here by happenstance. We are by God’s Divine Design. We are recreated in Christ Jesus so that we may fulfill God’s Will. The Amplified Bible says we are recreated in Christ Jesus so that we can live the good life, which God had predetermined for us. The good life. Say that to yourself at least five times: God recreated me in Christ Jesus to live the good life. God recreated me in Christ Jesus to live the good life. God recreated me in Christ Jesus to live the good life. God recreated me in Christ Jesus to live the good life. Now say it aloud. I am recreated in Christ Jesus to live the good life.

God wants me to enjoy the good life He planned for me from the beginning of the world. He wants you to enjoy life too. But this enjoyment can only be experienced as we walk in obedience to His will and ways.

I will have to stop here. But if you desire to learn much more of how to meditate in God’s Word, then get your copy of Be Ye Transformed here: http://amzn.to/1lxeu8D which explains in detail how to get your mind renewed so that you could enjoy God’s best.

What Happens When I Get Saved: How To Meditate in God's Word

I have a question for you today. Do you read your Bible daily? I might add that the key word here is, “DAILY”.

After preaching and teaching God’s Word for over thirty years, it is indeed amazing how many people do not spend time in God’s Word. It is also sad, for many of these same people run after those they believe hear from God, asking for a, “Word from the Lord.”

While I do believe that God speaks through people, permit me to say plainly that I believe His number one way of speaking to all of us is through His inspired Word, The Holy Bible. Why am I speaking of the importance of spending time in God’s Word so strongly? The answer is because it is the only way you will be able to renew your mind to God’s will and His ways.

This is necessary after we give our lives to Christ. We are encouraged in the Scriptures that we are to present our bodies to God as a living sacrifice (more on this later) and to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. (Romans 12: 1-2)

When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, our spirits, the inward man, is born again. We really are changed within and become new creations in Christ Jesus. Now we have to do something with our souls (mind, will and emotions) and we have to do something with our bodies. We have to change the way we think.

But with what will we renew our minds? We will need to develop the habit of feeding on God’s Word. God’s Word is the necessary ingredient for real mind renewal. You simply cannot get your thoughts to line up with God’s Will without spending time in God’s Word.

The Scriptures teach that if we want to be successful in life, and I mean truly successful, we will have to meditate in God’s Word day and night. (Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1: 1-3)

The word to meditate means, “to mutter, to ponder, to imagine, to think, and to speak,” according to James Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.” Therefore, when if we are going to change the way we think we will have to learn to think on God’s Word, mutter and speak God’s Word, and picture the truth of God’s Word in our minds. Mind renewal is KEY to living the victorious Christian life.

I go into great detail about how to scripturally meditate God’s Word in my book, Be Ye Transformed, (find it here: http://amzn.to/1yzT0dE ). I will share a little concerning how to do it here. Firstly, let me say that many people have avoided the subject of meditation because of erroneous beliefs concerning it. There are those who teach that meditation is emptying your mind completely of thoughts, and have a blank mind. That is not true.

Real meditation is filling our minds with the thoughts of God. It is feeding upon the Word of God.

We do not need to empty our minds. (Many of us may not have much in there now). We need to fill our minds with God’s Truths. So, how do we practically meditate in God’s Word? I will give just one example here. This is a precious Scripture to me.

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not, for I am with thee. Be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee. Yea, I will help thee. Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

What a powerful word from God Almighty. Now here is one of the ways to meditate:

Fix your mind on the first three words, “Fear Thou Not”, or simply, Fear Not. This is interesting. He is letting me know I do not need to be afraid. Why? Because He is with me. Say that to yourself. Mutter it. God is with me. God is with me. God, the Creator of Heaven and earth is with me.  Stop thinking that you are alone. You are never alone. God says He is with you. It does not matter how you feel about it. God says He is with you. Stop fretting and worrying as if you are by yourself in this cruel and evil world. God says He is with you. And because He is with you, you have all you need to overcome any situation or circumstance. You are not alone. You are never alone. God says He is with you. He is with you. He is with you now.
